In Honor of the XXI Olympic Winter Games

If you are a guy of a certain age - you may remember Bob & Doug McKenzie.  My pal Andy gave me this record.  As fictional brothers they hosted a ficticious TV show in Canada called "The Great White North."  Track seven of course is the hit hit song "Take Off" on which the guest vocalist is none other than Geddy Lee of Rush.  Take off, hoser.

  1. After playing hockey yesterday, I was enjoying a few cold ones with my Canadian buddies. I learned the origin of the word 'hoser', which is used about a hundred times on this album. While a lot of Canadian kids play hockey on a frozen pond, many also play on outdoor, man-made rinks. In organized games, the losing team is responsible for shoveling the rink and hosing a new layer of water on the surface. Thus the name hoser is associated with loser.
