Derringer: Live

I bought this SLA back in March at a record show.   A fellow enthusiast saw me holding it and said, unsolicited  that this LP is like his (Derringer's) greatest hits record - only live.  This album came out in 1972 - and has the seven minute version of Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo.  Here is more on Rick Derringer (born as Richard Zehringer, August 5, 1947), an American guitarist, vocalist, and entertainer.  Derringer came to prominence in the 1960's as a member of The McCoys, who had a number one hit single with "Hang on Sloopy.  Derringer then turned to blues rock, scoring a 1970 hit with "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo."  He has also worked extensively with brothers Edgar and Johnny Winter, and with the group Steely Dan.  Did not know about the Steely Dan connection.  Rick played on Katy Lied, the guitar (solo on "Chain Lightning").   And also on Gaucho.
