Funky Friday - Patrice Rushen: Watch Out!

Funky Friday - Patrice Rushen.  Watch Out! is a 1987 album released by R&B singer Patrice Rushen.  This album was the only album Rushen released with Arista Records after leaving Elektra Records.  The album produced several R&B hits for Rushen.  "Watch Out" was a playful, upbeat title single which made out to be a Top Ten R&B hit. Other songs such as: "Somewhere," "Anything Can Happen," "All My Love," "Till She's out of Your Mind," "Come Back to Me," "Tender Lovin" were also popular with her fans. Her next album would be a collaboration with several jazz artists entitled The Meeting.   And I just had to have her other huge LP - called Straight from the Heart is the seventh album by soul/R&B singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Patrice Rushen.  Released in 1982, it features her most recognizable song, "Forget Me Nots", the oft-sampled "Remind Me" and the popular instrumental workout "Number One".   That album is Rushen's most successful album to date, reaching #14 on the album charts. The success of "Forget Me Nots" is perhaps considered the major contributor to the album's popularity at the time of its release.
