George Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue
Mini post. I was over at Half Priced Books buying a couple dozen records today and got this one. Whoa. Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Side note - my dad saw him play in person, live - as they say. Pretty cool, I think. But this record cover, which is the main purpose of this blog - the record album covers and jackets - with this racey photo, I just had to post it - major league camel toe, and all.

Rhapsody in Blue - one of the best jazz tunes ever written. Very cool your dad saw Gershwin live!
ReplyDeleteHe did indeed, Andy - on Gerschwin's farewell tour - in Minneapolis. Many other greats too - like Duke Ellington.
ReplyDeleteWOW - the cover got my attention and Gershwin Brothers George and brilliant Lyricist Ira created timeless songs. Very cool your Dad saw him play. My Mom saw Sinatra in the early days playing in New York City outdoors during the bobby sockers days. very cool!!FYI great Jazz Sunday nights at Fitzgeralds
ReplyDeleteAnd people think "anything goes" to sell a product is a recent marketing ploy! Spencer
