Clapton in Chicago for Crossroads Festival III

He's played with all the greats of his era, the giants, but Eric himself tells us in his autobiography that the lineup in this band is his favorite.  That would be "the Dominos" - on keyboards Bobby Whitlock, bassist Carl Radle, and Jim Gordon drumming. Those three migrated to Eric from Delaney, Bonnie & Friends. This double live record, Derek & the Dominos in Concert, was released in January 1973, but the songs are from two back-to-back concerts of October 23/24, 1970, recorded at the Fillmore East.  I was able to score one solo (reserved seat) ticket to Eric's big all-day Crossroads guitarfest this Sat., June 26th. The venue is so close I could bicycle there, but coming home late on busy streets could be dicey. The vertical photo is of the inside record jacket cover.  I will report on the concert next week.
