The Charlie Daniels Band's Midnight Wind and Friday Night in San Fransico

Test...this is what I specialize in.  Records that look a bit too much like each other...Another custom side by side album cover comparison.  The the left is The Charlies Daniels Band with Midnight Wind, from October 1977.  And over on the right was see a record titled Friday Night in San Francisco, a 1981 single live album by Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía.  It has been described by jazz author and critic Walter Kolosky as "a musical event that could be compared to the Benny Goodman Band's performance at Carnegie Hall in 1938... [it] may be considered the most influential of all live acoustic guitar albums."
All the tracks on it except Guardian Angel were recorded live at The Warfield Theatre December 5, 1980, in San Francisco; Guardian Angel was recorded at Minot Sound, in White Plains, New York.  For this comparison look, we have to say Charlie's came out first.  But the acoustic guitar trio of DiMeola, McLaughlin, and De Lucia [sic] would later reassemble under the name "The Guitar Trio" and them made a reunion album that was released in 1996 after 13 years without playing together.  The 1996 effort has three originals apiece from McLaughlin and Di Meola, two by de Lucía and a McLaughlin-Di Meola duet on "Manhã de Carnaval."
